5-MINUTE SESAME CHICKEN NOODLE BOWL

[VOL.15]

welcome to SUPERMARKET.

i’m jeremy fall, chef, restaurateur, and founder of drugstore. next month, we’re crossing the bridge to bring my ingredient-conscious, high-flavor revolution to new york city. brooklyn, east hampton, manhattan and beyond.

there’s something about nyc eating that’s all about speed without compromise. the city doesn’t stop so you can cook; you make it work between subway stops and huddled commutes. this week’s recipe is my version of that pace: fast, satisfying, and built entirely in the microwave.

it stars good chop’s pre-cooked sous-vide diced chicken breast, perfectly seasoned, ready in 90 seconds, and their chicken breasts are free for life if you’re a SUPERMARKET subscriber, as long as you’re a member. add noodles, crisp veg, and a sauce with some bite, and you’ve got a dish that moves as fast as the city it’s inspired by.

5-MINUTE SESAME CHICKEN NOODLE BOWL

serves 2, ready in 5 min - brought to you by good chop.

when good chop’s pre-cooked sous-vide diced chicken breast lands in your fridge, you’re basically holding the microwave equivalent of a cheat code.

it’s juicy, seasoned just right, and ready to eat - no raw meat panic, no overcooked dryness. you can toss it into salads, grain bowls, wraps… but today, we’re turning it into a city-speed noodle bowl with crisp veggies and a sesame-soy dressing you’ll want to put on everything.

INGREDIENTS

  • 2 cups good chop sous-vide diced chicken breast (fully cooked)

  • 8 oz microwave soba noodles or instant ramen (discard the seasoning packet)

  • 1 cup shredded iceberg or romaine lettuce

  • 1 cup diced tomato

  • 1/2 cup diced cucumber

  • 2 tbsp sesame oil

  • 1 tbsp soy sauce

  • 1 tbsp rice vinegar

  • 1 tsp honey or maple syrup

  • pinch chili flakes (optional)

  • 1 tsp sesame seeds (white, black, or both)

  • zest of 1 lime or orange

INSTRUCTIONS

  1. PICKLE.
in a small microwave-safe bowl, toss diced cucumber with 1 tbsp rice vinegar, a pinch of sugar, and a pinch of salt. microwave for 20 seconds, then let sit while you prep the rest.

  2. TOAST.
add sesame seeds to a dry microwave-safe dish. heat in 30-second bursts, stirring between, until fragrant.

  3. WARM.
place the good chop sous-vide diced chicken in a microwave-safe bowl, cover, and heat for 60–90 seconds until warmed through.

  4. COOK.
microwave noodles according to package directions. rinse under cold water if you want them chewy, or keep hot for a cozy bowl.

  5. WHISK.
in a small microwave-safe bowl, mix sesame oil, soy sauce, remaining rice vinegar, honey, and chili flakes. microwave 15–20 seconds to meld flavors.

  6. TOSS.
combine noodles with half the dressing in a mixing bowl until coated.

  7. LAYER.
divide noodles into bowls. top with lettuce, tomato, pickled cucumber, and warm chicken.

  8. FINISH.

HELLO BROOKLYN. HI MANHATTAN.

brooklyn and manhattan, drugstore’s coming.

drugstore is opening on both sides of the bridge - market @ 77 in brooklyn, and a second spot in manhattan. the same ingredient-conscious, flavor-driven mission we’ve been running in the hamptons, now built for a city that never slows down.

new york is a different animal. it’s fast, opinionated, and stacked with more dining options than you could ever eat through in a lifetime. but that’s the point. drugstore belongs in the mix - a place where you can grab a smoothie, a snack, or a full meal without slowing down, and know that the quality never takes a backseat.

drugstore’s showing up in a city that has set the standard for food culture for decades, and bringing our own perspective to the table.

this one’s easy to make your own.

go vegan by swapping the chicken for baked tofu or edamame.

skip the quick-pickled cucumber and add fresh mango for sweetness, or swap the citrus zest for a squeeze of chili-lime hot sauce.

if you’ve got extra time, toss in fresh herbs like mint or cilantro for another layer.

see you next week.
